Agra: a great place to fall in love

Agra is located in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, about 200 km from the Indian capital New Delhi. Agra has the Taj Mahal, one of the most famous buildings and the largest tourist destination in the world, and two other UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Agra Fort in town and Fatehpur Sikri nearby. The city has little else, however. Pollution, especially smog and garbage, is widespread, and travelers are harassed by swarms of advertisers and street vendors at every monument, mosque, temple or palace. Even so, the sights are some of the wonders of the world and no trip to India is complete without at least one visit to the Taj.

Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal, also has some of the other immense beauties of India and the world. Agra is a place with several tourist attractions. Visit Agra to add color to your Agra historical tours. In Agra, you can also explore the architectural grandeur of the capital's mausoleums, forts and palaces in the 16th and early 17th centuries. Besides the Taj Mahal, there are many places to visit in Agra such as Agra Fort, Sikandra, Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah, Fatehpur Sikri, Ram Bagh, Dayal Bagh, Jama Masjid and Jahangir Mahal.

Agra also has a domestic airport that serves flights from major cities. Both government and private airways operate in Agra. The flight from Delhi to Agra takes only 40 minutes. Agra is conveniently connected to Delhi by rail. Many trains connect Delhi and Agra, as well as luxury trains such as the Palace on Wheels. The Agra Station is recognized as an Agra Acantonment Station. Agra is easily accessible by road from Delhi. The Delhi National Highway is well maintained.
